My son became interested in trying to find out what may have hapened to this particular B-29. It was not easy, but this is what he found.

B-29-35-MO (Martin-Omaha) serial number 42-65394 apparently never served in any squadron and is listed as scrapped/reclamation. It is possible that it was sent to Davis-Monthan AFB/AMARC, but since 42-65398 is listed as reclamation at Barksdale AAF, LA Apr 20, 1945 - 42-65394 may also have been scrapped there.

He later found more information:

While at Barksdale AFB it was assigned to the 331^st CCTS (Combat Crew Training Squadron).  While at Langley AFB it was assigned to 3539^th AAF Training Command Base Unit.  When it was stored at Davis-Monthan AFB it was assigned to the 4105^th Base Unit.  When it was stored at Pyote AFB it was assigned to the 4141^st Base Unit.  Dropped from the inventory in January 1952.
