Stilled Lives with Silos

“Stilled Lives with Silos” is based on the scenes one sees driving through farm country and the southwest -- the views from the interstates that make photography out the window compelling to do.
I am struck by the ability of the landowners to abandon, build over, ignore and move on with no apparent regard for the sightliness of their road frontage. Maybe all that open space allows this. I’m trying to capture that spirit.
It also appears where farms, of either crop or livestock, are large, and in the Southwest where industry calmly tramples the landscape and is apparently proud of it.
A few paintings have been completed about this topic and more will come in the future.
