This is a recent digital image taken in 2010 somewhere between Kodachrome Basin and Tropic Utah. The color and saturation are typical. This image will be manipulated in various ways to illustrate photographic films and prints of the past. This set of variations on a single image also illustrates some of what I mean when I say that digital photography is a fundamentally different medium from film photography.
